postheadericon windows server 2008 R2 SP2 server manager keeps collecting data

Our server at work went down, for some reason it was tunred off. When turning it on and booting into normal mode, the server manager kept collecting data endlessly.

We also noticed that we had a lot of exchange error in our windows log and that there was no network functionality except from icmp (ping). No windows updates had been done, nor was there any new software installed for 4 weeks.

When trying Safemode it all worked fine.

Looking on google i noticed alot of similar problems telling us we should:

- remove any new updates prior to the problem.

- check windows log and disable the services that have noticeable problems.

- try a diagnostic start with msconfig.

- Reinstall (This we did not try for obvious reasons :)

Trying them did not give us any solution.

What did solve our problem was to reinstall the nic!

So after being stable for a week, after reinstalling the NIC, it would crap out again randomly. I've even tried disabling the onboard NIC and using a USB to ethernet adaptor to no avail. Ended up throwing it out and using another server on hand.
